Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress from Manama, Bahrain and was born into a multi-ethnic household. Her father Elroy is a Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim is a Malaysian. She is the younger of two brothers and an older brother. Parents moved to Bahrain in 1980s due to the Lankan turmoil and she was raised in Bahrain. After graduating from the schooling in Bahrain she won an Scholarship to the University of Sydney to pursue a Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. An avid lover of different cultures and different languages, she attended Berlitz Language School, where she learned Spanish and improved her French and Arabic.
